Ponce, Puerto Rico is decidedly less known than San Juan, the famous capital to the north. But it’s well worth a visit, not only for the best art museum in the Caribbean but for the beautiful streets and plazas that make this city a gem.

The city revolves around the main plaza, Las Delicias, from which colorful side streets remind you of New Orleans. The art museum, believe it or not, has the best collection of English Pre-Raphaelite paintings, pretty much in the world. All in all a gorgeous place that is a bit off the beaten tourist path of the Caribbean.
