Here is the text of the Second Amendment:
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
‘Well regulated Militia’, is that not understood? Could nothing be more clear about what this text means? That the government can regulate arms? Good Lord, what Foxheaded idiot cannot follow this? You can have ‘arms’, you can bear ‘arms’, as part of a well regulated militia, but clearly, as long as you can ‘keep’ and ‘bear’ some kind of weapon, the government can regulate what that is. Why have we struggled with this so long?
The gap between Washington Republicans and the people of the United States could not be bigger.

Of course they don’t. They’re politicians. In theory politicians are after votes. The immediate problem is, post Citizens United, the majority no longer rules (check every poll on this issue), the money does.

But the big problem is, while there is a single, powerful killing promotion lobby (founded to educate poor marksmen after the Civil War), there is no single, powerful killing control lobby. To start having one, contact Senator Dianne Feinstein.
